Me, my best friend Nicole, and our friend Justin, were driving up north around Barrie, Ontario, Canada when we drove into a bad thunderstorm. The lightning was crazy so I decided to videotape it. I was lucky and caught an explosion of a telephone pole when lightning hit it. It exploded in a ball of flames and a boom that actually rocked our car. We were lucky as the blast was only 15-20 feet to our right MAX.

The video is pretty Crazy, you can see it if you continue to read the story below.
I also just wanted to thank CityNews.ca and CNN.com for putting the video up and broadcasting it for everyone to see!

Well, the world tour of protesting is still going strong and following the Olympic torch from place to place. Wherever the torch is, that is where you will find the hardcore protesters, professional protesters, and human rights activists.

Before you get your knickers in a knot, hear me out. I have seen the videos of the Chinese oppression of the Tibetans for years. I have seen them snipe down innocent Tibetans trying to go see the Dalai Lama. I also see the point of why should a country with such a bad human rights reputation be allowed to host the Olympics? Simple, MONEY!

The Olympics is a business, yes it is also a great event for all countries to compete with, but at the end of a day they are still out to make money. China has lots of money, so why not go to China? They do not care what China has done; only that China has money. Is this wrong? Of course it is wrong, but what can you do about it? Not much really. No matter how much you boycott or protest the Olympics, someone else will take your place to buy the ticket you are not buying.

I heard rumors that Bush was going to boycott the Olympics. I have not been able to verify that as of yet. If you know of another source please let me know. Our Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has said that he will not be “boycotting” the Olympics but does not plan on going there. He has stated that even the Dalai Lama has not called for an official boycott of the Olympics. I think that the Dalai Lama has only said that because he is a peaceful man. Our Prime Minister Stephen Harper, in my opinion, just doesn’t want to take a hard political action that could trouble relations between Canada and China.

A good point was brought up on noolympics.blogspot.com. They said, something along the lines of, if there is this much trouble over the Olympics OUTSIDE of Beijing, how much trouble will they have inside of Beijing? I think it could go one of two ways. They will do what they do best, and crack down on the people and not allow anyone to do anything remotely close to voicing their opinion. The other way is that people will swarm and protest in such large groups that they will simply not be able to handle such an enormous protest or large group of people. Either way it is going to make the headlines and make for entertaining news. We will all just sit back and see what happens.

I am not sure if I am going to watch the Olympics this year, I’ll make that decision when the time comes. I’d love to know what you are going to do. Are you going to watch the Olympics or are you going to boycott them?

All I can say is HORRAY! This is one of the few shows I watch religiously and buy all the DVDs for. I was saddened by the WG strike, as we all were, and am glad they went back to work. The Office is one of the few unique TV shows on these days that actually has the power to still be in the fourth season.

So many of the TV shows today are just put together really quickly and they usually are killed off before the first season ends. These type of shows SUCK and I do not have the time to list all of them but they include a lot of new “reality” shows. Then you have some shows like Jericho, which was cancelled, that was one of the best new shows on TV that was actually real and in your face.

The Office seems real to me, because I think most people who work in an Office can relate to some of the characters on the show. Every office has the “joker” aka Jim. There is always the “cute secretary aka Pam, who everyone secretly has a crush on. There is also a “crazy person” aka Dwight in everyones office.

This show was adapted well from the British version, which I am also a fan of. If you have never watched The Office before, I highly suggest you watch some clips on the NBC.com website or watch it when it airs on tv. The first and second season are somewhat slow paced but hang in there as it shoots up in awesomeness by the third season.

Don’t miss The Office Post Strike Season this Thursday, April 10th on NBC.

The more I go on the TTC, the more I see those “Get the the troops out of Afghanistan NOW!” stickers. They all say it is about power and corruption and not terrorism. Did anyone forget why we went to Afghanistan first? People from a lot of different nations died when Osama’s boys attacked the USA.

I can see their opinion on all the innocent people that are getting killed. However, how many people have the Taliban killed over the years? Where were these bleeding hearts then? The Taliban are killing more innocent people and preventing stability in Afghanistan. Why are they not speaking out against the Taliban? They would rather protest a war than deal with the bigger issue. The war is about Terrorism. It has nothing to do with the Iraq war. The Iraq war is a completely different issue.

It just makes me mad when people are protesting our troops in Afghanistan. You are calling them killers, when they are risking their lives. They are not to be compared to the Taliban. If you want someone to complain about and blame for Afghanistan, blame the Taliban. Do not blame the brave men and women who risk their lives every day just to make our country a little safer. The reason you have the right to protest is because people like them have made it a free and safe country.

This was just something I wanted to get off my mind real quick. I’m totally open to all opinions on this matter and feel free to leave comments.
